I hope there weren’t too many bookmakers offering odds on this game because a certain child would have put the proverbial spanner in the works for any punters who fancied a flutter.

Vadim Evseev was ending his career in the Belarusian Premier League with a testimonial match and he was given more than just a standing ovation when substituted and replaced by the five year-old in question.

Alan Hansen famously said you won’t win anything with kids but he’s obviously never seen the young Hrisan Dzheus in action.

It may have been a total fix but it’s still good entertainment. I thought for a second it was Wolverhampton Wanderers’ back-line because of their comedic defending but then I realised they’re worse than this.

Mutton dressed as lamb as the old saying goes.

They might have money but you can’t buy class and that’s never been more evident than during the Premier League title celebrations on the Manchester City bus.

You would have a hard time imagining a Manchester United player ever holding a sign depicting a gravestone akin to the fine artwork on display by the Carlos Tevez.

The controversial Argentine has apologised to Sir Alex Ferguson after holding up a banner at Manchester City’s Premier League victory parade which read “RIP Fergie”.

Tevez was pictured on Monday waving the banner during celebrations, having been given it by a City fan as the squad travelled the streets of Manchester with the Premier League trophy.

Tevez, who played for Ferguson for two years said: “I got carried away in the excitement of the moment and I certainly didn’t mean any disrespect to Sir Alex Ferguson, who I admire as a man and a manager.”

Manchester City also moved to defuse the situation, with a spokesman apologising on behalf of the club.

“The creation of the tasteless material is in itself reprehensible and in accepting and brandishing it, Carlos has made a significant error of judgment,” said the spokesman.

“The club wishes to express its sincerest apologies to Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United Football Club for any offence or distress caused.”

Hollywood doesn’t make finales like this. If Carlsberg had done it you would be calling it probably the best finale in the world.

For those of you who didn’t get to witness it live, the last day of the Premier League was rich in ups and downs, heartache, disappointment, celebration and jubilation, all in equal measure.

Ironically the two teams who profited most, played out a thrilling encounter which saw Manchester City win and Queens Parks Rangers lose, meaning City are crowned champions and QPR will be playing in the top flight next year at Bolton’s expense.

Arsenal finished in third with their London rivals Spurs grabbing fourth spot meaning and outstanding season from Newcastle is capped with a fifth place finish.

At the end of a league campaign you get what you deserve and regardless of the whisperings that City bought the league, it takes more than just money to win silverware and they will be remembered as worthy champions.

For Manchester United it will  be a season to remember that hinges upon a bad away defeat to Wigan and dropped points against Everton when they held a 3-1 and 4-2 lead at Old Trafford. Ferguson will galvanize the troops and investment in the summer will be necessary.

Roberto Mancini knows the importance of Sergio Aguero’s last-minute winner. The monkey is off the collective backs of the blue moon faithful and with the abundance of talent and the financial backing of Sheikh Mansour, the City era is only getting started.

Liverpool Model The New 2012/13 Kit

There’s nothing more depressing than your worst league finish in the Premier League era and it’s only compounded by having to wear a bad kit whilst doing it.  So that means next year, Andy Carroll and co. can score less goals combined than Lionel Messi whilst wearing a lovely new retro looking kit.

Craig Bellamy says ”It reminds me of Liverpool kits in the 70’s”. It’s a shame the trophy haul of the last 20 years doesn’t remind you of the Shankly/Paisley era too Craig.

Andy Carroll gets to wear some armor here also, just to add to the weight of expectation that comes with a non-sensical price tag.

I notice Luis Suarez didn’t have anything to say in this clip. I’m sure he was probably too busy scowling at Glen Johnson. You know how he gets!

I really hope the jersey has some kind of padding for when the likes of Downing and Henderson come crashing down to earth after King Kenny’s rush of blood to the melon spending spree.

The one positive is the ”96” on the back of the jersey in remembrance of the people who lost their lives at Hillsborough. A classy touch.

It’s All Over Bar The Shouting. That’s What You’ll Hear From The Noisy Neighbours

The final day of the Premier League season is almost upon us and there are some games that have no significance and some that are the complete opposite. For that reason there are some that we won’t be touching but we’re going to go out on a limb and pick a juicy accumulator.

I don’t expect either of the Manchester Clubs to slip up. City’s record is imperious at home and United know that they have to win if they are to have any hope of capitalising on an improbable City misfire. There are some other games that will be profitable such as Tottenham at home to Fulham, Swansea vs Liverpool and Everton against Newcastle.

For the accumulator we’re taking Man City -1, Man Utd to win, Tottenham -1 and both teams to score in the Swansea/Liverpool and Everton/Newcastle games.

This accumulator with William Hill  offers just under 9/1 on this and we’ll take that.

The final game of the Championship play-off semi finals takes place tonight at St Andrews as  either Birmingham or Blackpool will book their place in the final against West Ham later this month for at promotion to the Premier League.

Blackpool hold a slender 1-0 lead from the first leg thanks to a cruelly deflected goal. Birmingham had chances at Bloomfield Road, hitting the post on a couple of occasions and they won’t be phased at home.

They’re league record at St Andrews is formidable, where-as Blackpool’s away form is the polar opposite. William Hill are offering 10/11 for Birmingham to win in 90 minutes and I’m fairly certain this will hold firm.

The picture says it all. Thankfully it’s a description of a crucial Premier League game and not a re-make of the 2003 film with Mancini playing the role of Diane Keaton and Pardew taking Jack Nicholson’s place. As hilarious as it would be to see it, I don’t quite fancy it.

Instead we’re hopefully going to be treated to a cracking game as St. James PArk where City look to go one step closer to winning their first Premier LEague title while Newcastle try to keep the momentum going from their 2-0 win at Chelsea to land a fourth place spot.

Both teams can play football and they know they need to win. Cisse has been lethal in front of goal and City aren’t too shy about putting the ball in the back of an opponent’s net. For this reason we’re going to take Willam Hill’s offerings of 4/6 for both teams to score

The Premier League of darts is really starting to heat up as only Phil Taylor has guaranteed his place in the play-offs. 2009 winner James Wade and World Champion Adrian Lewis sit on 12 points in the current top four, with Raymond van Barneveld one point behind, while Hamilton, Kevin Painter and reigning champion Gary Anderson must all at least avoid defeat in Birmingham to keep their hopes alive.

Wade, who reached the final of the weekend’s Austrian Open has one win and two draws in his last 3 games. He’s had good results against Taylor in the past and I like Paddy Power’s offering of 4/9 for Wade +4.5 legs  as I fancy Wade to push Taylor and be within that distance by the end.

The other game we’re looking at is the clash between Kevin Painter and Adrian Lewis. Lewis is in flying-form at present and is making 180’s look effortless again. He is the current world champion and knows how to get things done. While Painter has done admirably well in his first season in the Premier League I expect Lewis to come through. He is in fourth place and realises the importance of this game.

Paddy Power are offering 2/5 for Lewis to win the match and we’re going to take that with the Wade selection in a double.

I think Javier Hernandez now has some serious competition for the title of  best buy in the Premier League in recent years.

It can take some players an eternity to adapt to the Premier League(remember Juan Veron and Diego Forlan??) so Papiss Cisse’s 13 goals in 12 games is all the more impressive when that’s considered.

It’s one thing to score a 13 tap-ins in 12 games but the Senegalese striker is hitting goal of the month contenders every-time he wears a Magpies jersey.

In Newcastle’s 2-0 away win at Stamford Bridge last night he did just that showing us that his £10m transfer fee was an absolute bargain.

It seemed like it took an eternity for it to finally arrive but when it did it kind of lived up to expectations. It certainly left the blue half of Manchester celebrating thanks to a first half Vincent Kompany headed goal and left one whiskey-nosed Glaswegian fuming.

The title is all but City’s now given the goal difference and their ability to score goals, which is something United seemed completely devoid of at The Etihad.

Rather than go into it in too much detail, given that we support the red part of Manchester we thought we’d offer some creative headlines that might feature in tomorrows papers:
