Anybody Lose A Wedding Ring?

It’s trending like nobody’s business today so I may as well jump on said bandwagon and give this some coverage. I do it with conscience intact because it’s a pretty amazing sight and CCC loves nothing better than a moon in front of the sun.

Or even a Supermoon as we covered here on 5th May.

If you were lucky enough to live in Asia, the western United States or any land mass in between, you would’ve been graced with the sight above of what looked like a ring of fire in the sky. Or more specifically, an annular eclipse.

An annular eclipse occurs when the Sun and Moon are exactly in line, but the apparent size of the Moon is smaller than that of the Sun. Hence the Sun appears as a very bright ring, or annulus, surrounding the outline of the Moon.

All very scientific but the most important thing is that you end up with lots of lovely picture to look at as a Google Image search will attest to.
